I have this one
It’s held up to daily stall cleaning, feed bag hauling, and sand moving. It’s lightweight, easy to dump and the bolts haven’t rusted through.

the Rubbermaid one
As a farm sitter, I have to admit that I hate this one: https://www.homedepot.com/p/10-cu-ft-Heavy-Duty-Wheelbarrow-B4W-10/206625314. The one I’ve used has upgraded handles with comfort grips, but pushing that up a ramp to a spreader is a beast. The bucket is HUGE and would work well for hay or shavings, but gets ridiculously heavy if you have manure in it. It’s designed so that you don’t have to lift up to drive, but you do to dump (and go up a ramp) and holy jesus is it awkward to dump since the bucket is soooo deep. And having 4 wheels means you can’t park it on any kind of incline. Ever. Good luck getting back down the ramp from the spreader without dying…
I prefer a standard 2 wheeled wheelbarrow. The muck carts are good, but getting the dump to release so you can dump can be tricky. I’m not a fan of the Rubbermaids at all.
This is what I like the best although mine recently fell apart. I think the 2-wheeled Rubbermaid ones don’t look that agile and I wonder if I’ll hate it. Maybe I should go back to this because I know I like it. Lightweight, agile, and holds just the right amount so it doesn’t get too heavy or feel like it’s a wasted trip to dump a small amount.
And so am I.
I don’t like the wheel barrows with two wheels, I find them very hard to maneuver and using them makes my back sore. I have a Gorilla Cart and love it but not for mucking stalls.
I have a deep, one-wheel barrow with a solid tire that I’ve been using for 11 years. Mr. Gary keeps wanting to buy me a new one but I told him I’m using this one till it completely falls apart.
Guess I’m old and set in my ways.
I have a dumping 4-wheel cart I use instead of a wheelbarrow. MUCH easier. And I clean my stalls right into the dump cart I tow with my zero turn…
I like the smaller of the two wheeled carts, mostly because the bigger cart gets really heavy and hard to dump if full of just manure.
I love my big rubber body, 2 wheels, wheelbarrow. No rust, no tipping over when it’s full and way less stress on your shoulders & arms to keep it steady when it’s full. Get the biggest one you can afford because you will use it 101 different ways.
Love the rubbermaid cart. Have two–one for crap, one for hay. Use them for crap and hay and all sorts of other farm related things.
The 4 wheeled one that I linked to above…OMG what a disaster to try to push up a snowy ramp. I watched my BO nearly bust her face open slipping and smashing face first into the lip. I pulled my crampons out of my tack trunk but we both agreed that we’ll use that one for shavings until this melts and use the old wheelbarrow for the ramp. Snow day farm chores: 1. Humans: 0.
I have this one

2 wheels, 8cuft. It can still hold a LOT of heavy manure if it’s all manure, but I’ve piled it high with picked out stalls and it’s doable, though granted my manure pile is downhill from the barn. Just don’t fill it as much if moving it, full, is an issue.
I tried that big black plastic/rubber dump cart and while it’s nice is you’re going short distances on level ground, with its nice big wheels, its hand positioning makes it very hard to maneuver up hills. The hand positions do not serve well for actually pushing it, just directing it.
This 2-wheeled one maneuvers easily. Not quite as on-a-dime as a single wheel, but it more than makes up for it by being able to operate it one-handed when necessary.
I have different wheel barrows for different jobs. For muck picking and dumping I use an 8 cubic foot EZhaul which I have used for 20 years with a couple of minor repairs. I have the 16 inch bicycle wheels with flatproof tires (you have a choice when buying). It is very well balanced for the job, as the wheels carry the weight… You can buy a complete range of spare parts and pieces should you need them. The only annoying thing about it is that it comes with a wingnut to hold the tub in the frame, which constantly comes loose. I replaced it with a locknut and all is well. The Rubbermaid cart is only any good for distributing hay to horses or merely carrying stuff, as its worthless for dumping anything. It is totally unbalanced and if you have anything heavy in there, you are carrying a lot of the weight yourself, instead of the cart. You then have to lift all that weight in a very awkward manouever in order to dump anything.
Also, the EZhaul will hold 7 horses’ overnight production.
Am I the only person who PULLS the Rubbermaid cart around, rather than pushing it?
I have the High Country Plastics 7 cubic foot Dura-cart with solid tires. I’m sure the bicycle style tires ala Smart Cart would be easier to maneuver but alas I am usually dealing with sopping wet loamy soil. I found the HCP cart to be more wallet friendly as well. I was worried the size would be too limiting until I realized I probably can’t push more material nor should I try.
