When the hollows above the eyes are not hollow

Thank you for bumping this up. My horse has puffy areas above the eyes as well. She has insulin resistance. I keep her on a very strict diet and exercise program. I have not soaked her hay. I’m hoping it isn’t necessary at this point.

I have a 19 year old gelding with no hollows above his eyes. Insulin levels are normal and he has been tested for Cushings and was negative. He has been like this since I bought him 5 years ago.

Bulging supraorbital fossae scare me, I always warn my clients that they are skirting danger when they show up. When you see horns you are really screwed.
