I’m curious about this comment. Is your trainer not helping with a US search?
I don’t work full time with a trainer. She is in FL for the winter (and based in NJ for the summer) and I see her at most once a month. If I go to FL, I’m sure she will help me out in my search but I am fully capable to doing most of the looking myself and do not need my trainer there with me to help me decide on a horse. She will see videos of the ones I like the most but that’s about it.
Do they have to be started?
Nope, I’m actually going to look at an unstarted on next weekend who is local to me.
And they know what they are doing! Really beautiful horses. Solid dressage training at every level. Nice folks.
Agreed. I’ve met Wakeup and seen several horses from their program. They recently sold a pint-sized WB mare who had me wishing my budget was just a little bigger. They price their horses very reasonably for a good program that’s also giving them a great start undersaddle.
If you don’t mind extremely well bred saddlebreds many broke for driving only, Robertson Equine Sales is having an auction of some awesome horses. Reedannland farm was well known in the ASB world, owner passed and horses are being dispersed.
I have no vested interest in the sales and def not associated with the sale.
I suggest checking out Galten Farms in Ontario. They breed Traks and it’s where my guy came from (showing PSG, training I1). They showcase them as jumpers but they make lovely dressage horses as well.

I have not read the entire thread but Deb Corff has some lovely young horses. I am not sure what she has now but always worth a look. She is in Oklahoma look up Horse of Corff….
Huntington Farm in VT
I did an “ISO” on a FB group recently and had good luck. I was specific about budget (and the post was approved?? Bcs an ISO maybe?) and location. I had lots of messages from people I didn’t see advertising otherwise.
I had a fantastic experience with Rolling Stone Farm/Mo Swanson in PA. The website was up to date with cross postings on warmblood-sales.com. The breeder was easy to deal with, very quick to respond to inquiries, and honest regarding the horses. When I was looking a year ago there were several horses that meet your requirements.
I was going to mention Wally Woo Farm. I have known Emily for a long time. Her and her mom, Jana, are both wonderful people and produce fantastic horses.
Thank you all for your advice! I actually got very lucky and found a super young one through a trainer I know in NC. Flew down and tried him yesterday, vetting happened while I was flying back today!
Congrats!!!
I am in NC, can you say who the trainer is here or at least PM me as I am also looking. And congrats!!!
Fie Anderson, Equito Dressage, in Southern Pines. She breeds as well as trains and just has a phenomenal approach to her horse care and training.
Congrats! I spend the weekend down in Wellington and had no luck. I’m headed to Europe on Friday.
Good luck!
And to everyone else, this handsome boy will be making his way to our farm on wednesday!
I am SO excited for you!! Fie is great. So, this means we’ll see you out and about locally? Will you be keeping his name?
