And, as someone who has sat on the otherside of sponsorship, putting your name in front of the class does not mean you paid the prize money for that class. It means you spent a rate determine to be fair to be the title sponsor of the class. I would expect horseware spent well under 5k sponsoring the 75k class. The money comes from the shows cash flow and many smaller sponsors who are sponsoring the show and not the class per say.

^^ Being as money is fungible, charging “ring” or “office” or other fees, free up other money for the GP’s or other big $$$ classes. Sponsors do put up a good bit of the money, but not all of it all the time.
