Where to Find - Breastplates

As another option, I have the Kieffer Profi Breast Plate (4th down) - http://shop.allsaddles.com/KiefferBreastPlatesandMartingale.html

I loved the Nunn Finer one, but wanted it in black which they don’t have. I was really happy to find the Kieffer one.

I actually ordered it from Calevo.com as it was CHEAPER to get it there, including shipping, than it was from Kieffer in the US.

I love the quality (and the price) and have been very happy with it.

I have the Nunn Finer one. I like it but would change a few things about it. I wouldn’t get elastic. It rubs on long rides or if you are really trail riding up mountains when your saddle slides back. The elastic stretches and contracts with each step resulting in the skin kind of “sloughing” off. Also, the neoprene shoulder patches cause rubs occasionally on my mare. She is a TB but not exceptionally thin skinned. The fit is also a bit strange on her. It works and I really like it, but I would prefer the piece that goes over the neck to be shorter so that it sits a bit higher on her shoulder.

But overall it is a really nice breastplate. The quality is great and I feel like it keeps my saddle more secure being attached to the girth than it would to the dee’s or stirrup bars, which is why I was attracted to this model. I don’t have much issue with saddle slippage and I’m not a huge fan of all of the straps of a 5 point. I would definitely recommend this one, but the full leather instead of the elastic. Or, if Bartville is going to make it for you they may be able just add smaller elastic pieces towards the top instead of straight across the chest.

I always thought this one looks comfortable with the wide straps.
