IMO HorsesDaily horse market is the best site particularly for upper level horses. I’ve bought 2 over the years off of there, (psg schoolmaster and 4th level mare) and I know several others who have as well.

A gal at my barn got a really nice (but not easy) FEI horse for a very fair price, she said, at the end of the Wellington season. Her husband said there were a number of horses for sale that trainers/owners didn’t want to ship home.

I still believe it is better to vet the seller than the horse, so my vote is to put the word out that you’re looking and get a personal referral to the seller.

There was another thread about a horse that was recently imported that died of a hemorrhage.

So I vote for word of mouth…where you an see the horse.
