^^^ very cool - hope you still have the vintage memorabilia.
My daughter groomed for Kent Farrington for a summer, and he showed a young jumper we co-owned with our trainer (Parrot Bay) to finish as the top 5 year old that year. We also bought her junior jumper from him and he was our Markel insurance agent (which I don’t think he is doing any more LOL).
My husband used to give Mark de Yonge’s (K 1 kayaking) wife dressage lessons. And I did rub shoulders with Mark Todd and Pippa Funnell at the old Windsor Three Day Event Friday night cocktail parties when I used to fence judge there back in the 90`s.
Yann Candele. He was my next door neighbor in Wellie world. Had many great times with he and Jenn. He and my son were good buddy’s. What a great neighbo we had.
My SIL is very good friends with Lauren Kieffer’s parents.
SIL and BIL are not horse folk though…that is our forte. I find this humorous. LOL
Very distant connection
Knabstupper in the ParaOlympics!!!

I rode for the Fox-Pitts during uni, and Tina Cook (our reserve) is local and hunts with us. Have interviewed Gemma Tattersall about the Olympics for a magazine, she’s … but it’s there also my best friend’s brother’s best friend (phew) plays on the GB rugby 7s team; we had a new year’s party with him! My nephew may had played them!! He has been to GB to play rugby
Chris plays ruby for the US 7’s All-American team. They almost made it. This >>> ll close

As for the future, “As of right now, I am just trying to become the best rugby player I can be to make a push into the Olympic Training Center Residency Program.”
He did get to the training camp. Too bad they didn’t make the Olympics. Maybe next go round
Nick Skelton and I have the same saddle!
I forgot…
When my son was in his mid-teens, he was competing in Mountain Biking… there was a whole family there totally dedicated to the races. The Battys… One son was in my son’s age group, but the oldest girl, Emily, was 2 years younger and quite cute! He liked her a lot…
Fast forward a few years… he switched to road racing and she is still at it… and finished 4th yesterday, just two bike lengths from her team mate who got bronze.
Still cute! http://emilybatty.com/
Two cool ones for me. In 2014, I was fortunate enough to spend a show season on a horse that had gone to the Beijing games for showjumping. I’m not an eventer, but a couple years ago I did a clinic with Jessica Phoenix, who seriously could not have been nicer. Both were incredible experiences.
I just remembered a connection :). Ludger Beerbaum and me used to ride in the same shows when we were about 12 years old. We did compete in the same classes ( we are the same age). And he always won, but I usually got 4th place
We grew up in the same city and started to go to the same University.

Ah wow, how cool - best of luck to your nephew! The chap I know had a lovely street party yesterday and let me wear his silver medal…surprisingly heavy!

I rode with Joe Fargis and Conrad Holmfeld in the early 1980’s and was part owner of Touch of Class. Joe gave me the t-shirts that all the athletes get in their clothing bag, since he does not wear t-shirts. And as a part owner of ToC, I was the first one that Joe let wear his gold medals. <3 — They were not as heavy as they appear to be now, but they were just as cool.
While Joe and Conrad were whisked away (with police escort) to get their medals before the closing ceremonies, I got to answer their phone and write down names and messages from everyone (around the world!) who called them with congratulations.
It was quite an exciting time.[/QUOTE]
Another connection for me! I am friends with a part owner of the incredible Touch of Class!!
Mclain Ward almost ran me over with his golf cart at Spruce Meadows a couple years ago.
