Won our eq flat with full beard. Lots of compliments at the gate on said beard, it’s quite dramatic. Growing everybody out now!
My dressage horses get legs clipped to the knees, jaws trimmed, bridle paths clipped, and excessive fluff removed from the outside of the ears. Whiskers, eyes, and most of the ears stay.
I usually just tidy up the ears, jawline, and lower legs, then keep a tidy halo of whiskers…enough so the mare can feel with them as needed, but not so much that she looks feral.
