You could always use baby shampoo as a gentle alternative. My friend and I have sensitive red heads that if the wind blows the wrong way will get something on their legs. Baby shampoo is about all they can tolerate on a regular basis. My guy has high white socks behind and I am a less is more type of person since he is so sensitive. I do keep an eye on his heels and pasterns for scratches as they pop up randomly and can get out of hand quickly. Otherwise, I only wash his legs specifically before shows and use a whitening shampoo. Mostly, he just gets a good rinse when he’s sweaty after a work out. I also curry off any mud on his legs, pasterns, and heels and use a tiger tongue to remove any dust or small dirty spots.
