Lacking in horses lately due to ridiculous amount of rain, so mostly of the puppy. Hahah. But, horses are generally in the forefront as well as adventures I have as a writer and journalist!
I couldn’t recommend The Plaid Horse (theplaidhorsemag) more highly. Their Devon photos alone make them worth following! They also frequently update as a bonus.
FWIW, they also reviewed my first novel (and will hopefully review my second) and the behind-the-scenes staff was just really lovely to deal with. Nice, nice people.
I follow a select few as I am in to photography and always trying to learn. (Going to try to take photography and editing classes at a technical college this summer.)
@appawoosa He is absolutely incredible. Just a flawless account and one of the best out there. I call him a “drone” as he always has different angles at these amazing international shows…especially the Paris ones. (And he is always happy to answer questions about photography if any ammy photographers need help…like myself! :lol:)
@landalucio Another incredible photographer. He captures some very lovely candid and behind-the-scenes moments at major horse shows.
@philipadavinphoto Sweet, sweet lady who is a fellow Fibromyalgia suffer. The images she captures are incredible. Also, like appawoosa, she is happy to answer any photography questions.
@a_evers is an incredible horse racing photographer whose images are featured in magazines and major online articles as part of Eclipse Sportswire. It’s insane.
@reminiscingthedays takes gorgeous pictures of hunters and jumpers
@muttsluver (a good friend of mine) takes beautiful horse racing photos at various tracks throughout the country that she visits.
@moments_of_serendipity She lives in Thailand. The account is strictly black and white. She just restarted her account, but she had/has gorgeous photos of dressage and showjumping.
Haven’t come across any good dressage accounts, which is a shame, as I cross train 4th Level/PSG, and always enjoy dressage pictures.
I’m eternally_equestrienne. Mine is very electic with mainly hunters and show jumping…World Cup, American Invitational (2014), local H/J AA shows, local USEF dressage shows, the Chicago Hunter Derby where top riders like Jen Alfano come to compete, Arlington Racetrack on Million day, Breeder’s Cup (2014), the Tempel Lippizan performances.

Why is instagram so addicting?!
I thought of one horse account I follow. It’s Amber Marshall, the lead actress from that Canadian T.V. show Heartland. Most are Western, but she posts a lot of pictures of her riding through the mountains with her husband. A fun account for beautiful views!
