We skip the trailer and haul our horses (large minis/small ponies) in our extended Chevy Xpress cargo van. For planned trips, we fasten straw bales to the bulkhead for extra protection and our floor protection system, but for emergencies it’s ready to go, no hitching necessary.
This van is the most versatile vehicle. We use it to haul musical equipment, furniture, farm and fencing supplies, hay, shrubs and small trees for the garden, building materials, camping, and much more. It does everything a pickup would do and more. We could easily haul a trailer, if we had one.
