Wild Dance offspring?

I have had two Wild Dance foals so far…last years out of my Sir Donnerhall/Feiner Stern mare and this year out of her dam.

Here is this years out of the Feiner Stern mare…

Fourbeats, what is the damline of your colt? He is gorgeous![/QUOTE]

Hi Clint,

The damline is Don Alfredo X Wolkenstein II . Thank you for the compliment, Wiglaf just gets better and better every day.

Yep, we did a repeat of Wild Dance X Calliope X Conquistador again this year. Our 2012 filly is lovely, correct, athletic and easy to work with and around. Our only issue is keeping her in the paddock, she doesn’t go anywhere, she just jumps out occasionally!

For those with Wild Dance offspring, what are the temperaments like?

Mine started out a bit shy but as soon as he figured out that humans were good for scratches he came around. He’s not as completely laid back as my Figaro B filly is but I think that tad bit spicy attitude will benefit him once he’s under saddle.

I have my first Wild Dance foal, born a couple of weeks ago~ I LOVE my filly!!! Edgar was phenomenal to work with, and I absolutely couldn’t be happier with my filly~ She is everything I hoped for and then some!!! Really!!!

She can be seen on the foal page of my website, http://www.roanoakefarm.com/GoldenEdgeSporthorses-OurFoals.htm

Or, you are welcome to PM or email me and I can share more pictures of her if you would like to see my PERFECT(!!) girl!

In my experience, the temperament is perfection. Not yet 2 months old, the foals stand, tie, groom, clip, lead, pick up their feet, and are friendly and eager for interaction.

The filly is extremely feminine, sweet, and affectionate. The colt is rambunctious, bold, and also very affectionate. Exactly what I want and expect from foals of their sex and age.

Honestly, I can’t wait to ride them! From what I can see, training them under saddle is going to be easy and fun, just like they are now.

I’ve bred horses for a long time on a very small scale, and these are the best horses I have ever bred, hands down. Wild Dance is some sire! Exceeded my expectations all the way around, and hopefully the girls are bred back.

Plus, as others have noted, Edgar is just a gem to deal with, and that’s no small issue in the wacky weird world of stallion owners.

I really am quite smitten with this filly!!!

We have a State Premium Mare by Wild Dance, born 2002. You can see a Picture of her here: http://www.sporthorse-data.com/d?i=10724806

She had 2 foals so far, 2008 a colt by Trakehner Carel Deak (by Markus Deak xx from State Stud Celle out of an Arogno/Bartholdy-mare) which is now competing in dressage competitions for young horses; and a 2009 filly by Trakehner Editorial (by Connery), which is staying with us for being a broodmare later

Our Wild Dance-mare has very good gaits, a strong back, jumps very good, but typed more like that old hanoverian style at 1960/1970-years, you know what I mean? Not that modern long-legged black horse, that everyone apparently wants to ride these days

How old was the mare in the pic? World Cup I both sides of the pedigree, so not too surprising she is more old style (:). I’m a bit old style myself…

I don’t know much about the Trakehner sires you mention. How do the offspring differ from the dam…What has the dam passed on to the offspring?

That is quite a good looking mare considering her Dam line goes back to Warkant and Wenzel which is very heavy and she herself now is 3 times W-line. Super performance blood and probably like you say not your ideal end product but I bet she produces excellent with some of the blood crosses you have done.

I love the looks of this mare and don’t think she’s too heavy at all.

Well, ![]( said she`s more that old type, but I like it much better than those “modern” types, like a lot of Sandro Hit-offspring, short back (too short), too long leggs (not in balance at all)…you know what I mean?

Her best advantage is her strong back. The only thing we wished to improve was refinement, so we chose Trakehners or stallions carrying a lot of blood (tb). We sold the 2008 colt to a young dressage rider, who is now competing him in his first shows. He’s doing very well. I try to show you some pics, so you’ll see the difference.

The 2009 filly by editorial stays with us for being a broodmare. She seems to be a little to small, but she has a very good conformation and stunning gaits.

you can see the whole pedigree of the offspring at sporthorse-data.com Just look up the link above or search for Winzerin by Wild Dance and her offspring.

All in all our Wild Dance-mare passes her strong back and a good conformation on to her offspring plus a very good walk! Other gaits are also good, but the walk is outstanding. This is something I miss at a lot at (dressage-) horses these days. For later foals I would like to try a full TB like Markus Deak xx or Lauries Crusador xx. I guess Laurie matches good, there are a lot offspring containing the combination Laurie x W-blood (like World Cup, Weltmeyer…).

Thank you for posting Winzerin’s offspring. They are both lovely…I like the idea of Markus Deak XX…dam sire of Don Darius.

Thanks, Fourbeats! She’s not heavy, but a horse which needs some refinement! Just that little shot of Blood and Elegance, you know?

Well, I had that idea last night:

What do you think? Too much W?

Another possibility would be one of the Locksley-Brothers or Lord de Hus
