Well the economy effects most but other than that, short term, those that have a farm or property and breed are probably in a good place to not have much exposure. For us we just ship semen any day because it is not a problem and fedex has not been a problem getting it there in normal guaranteed time overnight. So we keep doing what we normally do and feel blessed that we have what seems less problems staying busy while keeping away from most people. It is likely that some wont breed because they worry and that will make a good market for the ones that do. Lots of ways to look at it.
Today 5 more mares bred with Eurequine stallions as all shipments arrived in time (VA,NC,FL,UT,CA) and USDA and CFIA and FEDEX said no problem shipping to Canada
This is relevant for all who are shipping semen: As of 3/26, both UPS and FedEx have suspended all service guarantees to any and all shipments.
I work in an essential industry - a large part of what we do is reliant on shipping companies, so while we have been operating per normal, we are now closely watching what happens with our freight companies. While we remain hopeful that shipping speeds remain unimpacted, we are not necessarily optimistic that this will be the case.
Definitely do your due diligence researching semen shipments in the immediate future.
Yes and Fedex has not missed a beat for our daily shipments, all arriving on time
