Winter riding skirts

These Arctic Riding Skirts are really great!

They aren’t cheap, but they’re amazing and worth the money. They have insulated skirts, waterproof, wool and these waxed canvas chap-like skirts. www.arctichorsegear.com. www.arctichorsegear.com

I have seen several people locally who have riding skirts to wear in cold or foul weather to keep you clean, dry and slightly warmer. They are fleece or flannel on the inside & waterproof or other durable material on the outside. The shape allows you to ride astride, they are below the knee & the waist is Velcro and wraps around you. A lady locally makes them but they are $150.

I was thinking of asking my mom to sew one but she needed a pattern or measurements.

Anyone who can help or know of cheaper options?[/QUOTE]

You only have 3 posts of COTH and all three are advertising for this company.

Too bad you didn’t post any good advice that wasn’t advertising. You’d have more credibility.

I’d never buy this product now because you made it seem like you are a shill for them. Whether you are or not, it doesn’t matter. You did them more harm than good.

I used a pattern for a '50s style poodle skirt… but just added the zipper up the front. They are super easy to make, but they are expensive because of how much fabric they take. Nice thing is they act like a 1/4 sheet and keep your horse’s back and bum warm, but your legs too! Waterproof fabric is VERY expensive… choose an upholstery fabric instead and buy a can of tent waterproofer!
