Woman Shot at Barisone Farm

I thought either she (LK) or someone posted a screenshot from her that she left her guns in NC because of stricter NJ laws.

Any chance this suit from LK was filed to stop a sale of the property? I mean it does list the LLC as a defendent, and if it is tied up in a lawsuit for damages it can not be sold…

I don’t see anything in Eggbutt’s post about how anything MB does is right. There’s just a good memory of watching him ride.
I met him at a clinic and admired his teaching, but that doesn’t automatically mean I think that has anything to do with this situation.

More informative article:

So, I think this might have been covered earlier but I can’t remember…are firearms not allowed on private property in NJ? The article says the suit is due to them allowing firearms there. But a ton of barns I know down here keep firearms around for various reasons, including things like for coyotes or mountain lions or bears (all of which I have seen/seen tracks for here). Is it just not a thing up there?

At the beginning of this thread (for lots of pages) we learned that the state this took place in is a no bail. So they are either detained or let out, no bond.

The likeliness of someone accused of attempted murder being out in this situation is slim to none, amazing attorney or not. So it says less about how great their case is (on either side) and more about how the no bond set-up works.

There are restrictions but it is allowed.

New Jersey generally prohibits the knowing possession of a handgun in any place other than one’s own property or place of business without a permit to carry a handgun. … New Jersey requires any person seeking to carry a handgun to apply for a permit through the NJSP or local law enforcement.

You need to select Civil Part not Special Civil

It seems a civil case was filed but I don’t see a criminal charge. Anyone with better Internet skills?..

Morris I think?

Oops. Thank you!

I think the farm is in Morris but I thought everyone was gone from the farm. I think RC is from NC so wouldn’t she have gone back to there? If that is the case would she be arrested in NC and extradited back to NJ? I guess should could voluntarily turned herself in to NJ.

That’s the same article that was in the Times. Although this was an early version before LK’s incorrect age was deleted. But after MB’s Olympic record was corrected.

So I have been busy with work and just got the time to catch up on the 20+ pages. My question is for LK since you are reading the forum and responding. When you get back to North Carolina will you go to the magistrate and get served the papers for the cyberstalking/cyberbullying charge? I would think that you would want to prove that you are not guilty of these pending charges OR are you avoiding getting served because you are guilty?

Interesting.

Anyho, in respect to LK’s lawsuits/charges filed, as she said herself, you can be charged with anything, but that doesn’t mean it’ll stick or the charges could be dropped. I’m paraphrasing, of course. but if you have time on your hands and some cash, why not throw everything at the wall and see what sticks?

Plus, it is somewhat clear that LK does not have a developed career that provides a good and steady income, so I could see why she’d want to get as much financial compensation as possible.

I don’t blame her for suing someone for shooting her. That point I won’t argue (unless it was in self defense, but no evidence indicates that thus far).

I do think MB should be charged, there is no question there, the extent of his charges I’m not sure. I am not privy to all details and evidence. I have a hard time taking anything that LK says seriously. Mostly due to previous contradictions and lack of clarity with the story. Nothing personal, just how it is.

Yes!! That is obviously the motivation for launching this now, when usually you would wait until after the trial to establish facts and guilt. Well spotted. Lawsuit cobbled together the moment the real estate listing goes up.

Interestingly where I live damages in civil suits are awarded for future lost employment income not for pain and suffering. They look at your employment record up to the incident. If you have never held a good job, then your damages are a lot less.

LOL I’m sure the property owners (those aside from MB) really love her now. This is in reference to her saying previously that the property owners couldn’t wait to have her back on the property and were so welcoming.
