Would you buy a Ford Excursion or would you buy something different

6.0 is a known problem. Pricing should reflect this. Find a good diesel mechanic and do the mods. The 7.3 Excursions are getting pretty long in the tooth, unless you can find a dry environment one, the body will likely be pretty shot. There is a company out there making “new” ones, but they are 60K or more.

Then somebody at Edmunds made a big typo or they have idiots doing some of their analysis.

or possible just a large supply of 6.0L trucks on their hands

The 6.0 can be fixed, just plan on dropping 3-5K to make it a forever motor.[/QUOTE]

This is in fact true. 6.0 engined trucks are pretty affordable - if you find a decent deal and get it “bulletproofed” you’ll actually have a powerful and reliable vehicle for less money than the other options.

The 7.3l had a very good reputation. They are still sought after 13+ years later.

Yeah if you are playing the “money is no object game” you can have a 2016 F truck with 6.7 Diesel turned into a “2016” Excursion too.
