TerraNova near Tampa, Florida?
I did not realize they had a cross country course there. I had only heard about H/J shows at that facility.

This is concerning and itās not the first time itās been swept under the rug in a media sense. A horse also died at Stableview (I believe it was there) recently and it didnāt make the headlines either.
Near Sarasota.
They have a 4* cross country course.
I only knew about the Events/Horse Trials there. I didnāt realize they had H/J shows as well until a month go.
This report gives a little more detail on what happened.
Eventing Nation, USEA and COTH all reported this.
Interesting, thanks.
There is a go fund me for a memorial for Hannah that was posted on the HJ thread.
Wow. Almost sounds like the horse was stopping, she fell off, horse carried forward and couldnāt right itself so fell forward onto her.
They have a 4* - Spring & Fall.
I put accident in quotes because by definition an accident is something unexpected. I donāt think horses dying at an event anymore is unexpected. BTW - the death was at like Prelim not in the 4*.
Wasnāt there some mess about conflicting dates between Terra Nova and another nearby venue, and the USET went with Terra Nova, which is newer and prettier? (Red Hills, maybe???)
I THINK the Red Hills CCI date went to Chatt Hills. Maybe the fall Tryon CCI date went to TerraNova?
There is no excuse to " hear something horrific and repeat " on the internet āwhat weāve heardā, and Iām positive that "weāve all " not ādone thatā.
Anyone who does that, in regard to a fatal accident, needs to be called out and made to understand the seriousness of their actions. If they are very young people , then they need to learn this now, since apparently their parents arenāt teaching them how their gossip about what theyāve āheardā, can hurt people who are in extremis.
Well youāre better than most people Iāve met who have made a mistake, realized it and corrected it.
You just seem to need to make an unnecessary point, so go ahead and make sure they know how wrong you think they are.
I have never made a āmistakeā by putting gossip on the internet having to do with someoneās death. It is inexcusable and hopefully, people who are prone to making this sort of āmistakeā, will learn quickly that their inaccurate, speculative, posts are seen by the people affected and are forever on the internet. Hopefully they will refrain from behaving this way again.
They wonāt do so if they donāt know any better and if no one calls them out , will they?
Considering they deleted the post before you ācalled them outā I think they realized it was a mistake.
I think sometimes when we hear of horrible things happening a natural response is to talk about it with others, it was gossipy and some facts untrue, and they deleted it. I donāt know what else you want from a stranger on the internet except to make it known that youāre morally superior and donāt ever accidentally say or do something that is wrong.
A kid died tragically and a family is grieving, can we just all give each other a little more kindness?
They did not delete the post before I ācalled them outā.
Yes, we can prevent the hurt caused by gossip posts on the internet , by not gossiping in the first place. If someone needs to to discuss a fatal accident then they can do so with their friends , not on a national B.B.
Deleting posts that are hurtful gossip is not enough.
An apology is in order, but , oh well, āweāve allā ādone itā, right? No.
Making excuses for people who post hurtful, untrue, words online after a young womanās death, is certainly not helpful to those whose feelings that you seem to care so much about.
I hope that this person has learned a lesson and has been educated by their parent(s) that the posting of gossip on a national B.B. is unacceptable. especially when the death of another human being is concerned.
Yes they did, because your ācall outā was in regards to them⦠deleting the post
Iām not making excuses, and Iāve said it was wrong, and didnāt agree with the post. I however donāt see the need to keep harping on a post that was deleted because someone realized they shouldnāt have posted it. You however seem very determined to get that public apology so maybe private message them and ask for it. Best of luck!
They deleted their first post. Which is now gone, but my response to it is still there. Then they deleted their second post as well. I responded then, to them deleting both posts.
I understand that you think that every person should get a break, when responding irresponsibly, online, to the circumstances of a teenage girlās death. I disagree, and think that lessons should be learned (though I canāt imagine anyone old enough to post on COTH would not be old enough to know better.)
This article includes details about the service for the young rider who passed away over the weekend. It will be at WEC Ocala on Monday, May 8th, starting at noon Eastern, and it will also be live streamed.

So, Fiona Cashelās horse was euthanized at Badminton. Is there anyone who has access to data on deaths at Badminton, Burghley & Kentucky in say the last 10 years? I know that Kentucky is considered soft by British standards but maybe thatās the way it should be. Am I wrong that we had quite a few rider falls but no horse falls at KY this year? Iād love to see the #ās at each event for a number of years. Anyone?
