I’m surprised the buyer of the horses aren’t listed in the results, maybe they’ll be updated in the future. I’ve been spoiled with the sales I’ve followed where the buyers are listed along with the selling price almost immediately.

I don’t know as they won’t post the country name. Lots of Belgium buyers too. One lady bought i think three at 30-40K each. I don’t think she went to Egypt.

It was nice that they clarified before the bidding started that Ornellaia would not be separated from her foal before October.
Yeah honestly the prices are really reasonable per previous auctions. 150kish EUR was about the max I saw for famous adult horses (not the embryo) . Reasonable!
@nutmeg - just bid next time! We are such freaking enablers here!! $136k EUR for this quality of horse is p good!

Whew! The happiest of happy endings. John Whitaker says that his daughter alerted him to the fact that she was to be sold and he got the ball rolling with his sponsors the Old Lodge Stud. He said he was still very attached to the mare who was always happy, always with the ears up, and is thrilled she is going to such a fine home and that he will be able to watch her foals come along. He followed the auction online.
That was from horses.nl, which goes on to say her first foal went to a German journalist and breeder.
