This is so nice of you and you would have made my entire life when I was a horse crazy kid with limited access to horses, but as an adult I would be so worried about liability, i.e. if/when one of them gets bitten or kicked and sues. “She TOLD us we could feed them! She never said they were VICIOUS!”
Nope nope nope. Not worth it. Don’t attractive nuisance laws vary by state? I would put up whatever signage is recommended for your state and maybe also post something about how the property is under electronic surveillance?
If they didn’t peace out when your daughter tried to approach them I’d recommend going the friendly, “We do not allow anyone to interact with the horses in the pasture. Would you like to schedule a time to bring your kids and meet with them?” route but it sounds like they already know that they shouldn’t be trespassing. They may be less motivated to do it if they think their risk of being caught is substantially increased.[/QUOTE]
Well, I figured that if I tell them they can’t feed the horses a couple of carrots then I am the mean neighbor lady. Right now, I am the nice neighbor lady, and I get help from many of my neighbors in return…garden vegetables, eyes on my property, no flack from loose equines turfing their lawn :uhoh:, inside scoop on who did what, etc.
My equines are not going to keel over from 2 carrots a day and based on my observations out my window, they are following my instructions on tossing the carrots rather than hand feeding them.
But, based on this thread, I guess I live in a different neighborhood than most COTHers!
In fact, I have been known to let all the neighbors touch my ass on occasion  https://fbcdn-sphotos-f-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-xpf1/t31.0-8/966180_10200484881182159_2136642015_o.jpg
