Yep she's brindle (was Color Question - Brindle)

Here’s an interesting article on brindle and chimericism. So far, Rubi’s foals haven’t been told Rubi isn’t their mother so I’m guessing she’s not chimeric. But the UC Davis test will be the judge of that.

It could be luck of the draw that you picked the “right” dna for the genetic testing of parentage

Don’t they send in about 50 hairs for DNA testing per foal? I can’t imagine that out of 6 foals, not one would come up different if she is chimeric. Random picking 6 out of 6 matching DNA is pretty low odds IF there’s two lines possible isn’t it? Shouldn’t it be closer to 50/50 (statiticaly (sp?) speaking)?

Here’s a p![](cture taken a few days ago. Not the greatest photo but its hard to take a decent picture of a horse with no help. lol

This is Rubi’s 2011 Stedinger filly and she has one ‘stripe’ on her shoulder. Rubi has a bridle stripe on her shoulder as well. Is is possible Rubi’s filly inherited the bridle gene? It looks drippy like the brindle pattern rather than a stripe caused by sooty foal coloring.

What do you think?
