I LOVED this book way back when. I practically had it memorized. And having just pulled it off my book shelf to open it to a random page, I’ve decided I’m naming my next horse “Cup Custard.”
Yes, Kathy Kusner was the person who first leapt to mind when I read that! She was so tiny, she must have needed a very sturdy pad indeed!
I remember reading the weight limit was removed to preserve the soundness and thus the career of the horses.
Re: Light Horsekeeping–I recently bought a secondhand copy. Many of the girls in that book ride their horses to the show. (Something people in the UK still do, at least more often than here).
