Your favorite reins?

I love WIDE soft web. And can’t find any I can afford. I have two pair, one is faded and rusty buckles–at least 20 years old. T’other is faded–and black with silver, bridle is brown with brass. No one said I was a fashion maven.

I’m tempted to try the Thinlines, but… I am NOT a fan of rubber. And I want wide–I love 7/8ths or even 1" reins–but not thick. If that makes sense.

Mal Byrne is a great saddler. I have reins from Wagners, another Australian saddlery.
They are the padded leather ones, I have them for showjumping and dressage. They are so soft, but grippy too.

I have long fingers…

So I like something a bit more solid in my hands, but I still like a nice feel when I close my hand. I’ve found that the smooth rubber reins are my favorites. (I can’t recall the brand I have, but these reins are similar): http://www.equissentials.com.au/Rubber_Reins_p/stc_ste6525xx.htm

Thanks for the link. Beautiful bridles, I will be sure to visit when i visit next. The padded leather ones are the ones I bought from Mal Byrne. I like that they come in two widht. For anyone with small hands or arthritis, these are great because you can really close your fingers on them since they are soft and pliable.

I have carpal tunnel and love the eventa reins by courbette. they are not the pimply rubber reins, but smooth, but very soft and pliable. they also are NOT at all slippery, even when wet. Bonus - they do not ‘melt’ when you use oil on the leather part like most rubber reins. They are about $100 but well worth it. I wait until VTO has their annual sale to restock.

Another vote for the woven reins with rubber threads thru them, with stops. Flexible as leather, grippy, not bulky… wonderful.

I second the nunnfiner reins I love them!

I don’t have any, but I steal my friends soft touch reins every chance I get. For dressage only, though, I like to have something more solid to hold onto when I jump. But for flatwork I really like how light and flexible they are.

Jerry’s Harness synthetic reins.

Jerry’s Harness synthetic reins. They look like leather, but do not slip, are nice and soft.
