maybe she yowls for a similar reason as I feel like yowling sometimes when I miss my out of state friends and want to be with them and with a horse and want someone to “fix” whatever’s wrong because I don’t know what really is wrong.

That is a good idea. Thanks! I will see what I can come up with. I’m repurposing some plastic cube crates; one of those might work. Or a small (brand new, never used) litter box.
Or – hmm – what I used as my Smokey kitten’s first litter box ages ago, a dish pan.
