There was a developer in this area who used to go around, and hire different law firms to handle his business. He never paid them. Gradually, he found fewer and fewer firms that would deal with him. However, I organized a homeowner’s group to fight a particular development he was trying to get approved. I found it ridiculously difficult to find a firm that could represent us. Why? Because even if he didn’t pay them, the firms had to recuse themselves, as they had worked for him, and had intimate knowledge of his business. They were considered to be conflicted out.
Perhaps Zayat will find that happening to him, at some point. I mean, unless he gives them a six-figure retainer, and they have a contract which allows them to bail (and I have no idea how you would structure that) sooner or later, they have to smarten up!!
