0.09" (3/32 in) spline for trailer window screens--help me find

My youngster likes to rip out the screen in the trailer window. Usually I can recycle the spline but this time some of it has disappeared (it had cribox all over it so I don’t think he ate it!).

Anyhoo, all I can find is 100 ft rolls on Amazon, which seems excessive, even had I a spline-eating horse. Does anyone have a source? It seems like they use this size in RV screens as well, but I still haven’t been able to find anything online in a smallish quantity.

Thanks!

I assume you mean the stuff that is pushed into the grove and holds the screen in place? If so I wouldn’t think that is a “special order” size… Should be the standard size used in the average screen door/window? If so might be worth checking Home Depot/Lowes, I’ve bought a window size amount for a few dollars. If it is smaller than average the size might be worth going to the ace hardware on 41 in Christiana. Its a big one, well stocked for DIY and they might sell it by the foot.

Would an RV dealership have it?

Thanks Larry. They don’t have that size at HD, Lowe’s, etc. If you look at the groove it is tiny. There is an RV place in West Chester that I am going to call, plus I got some ideas in a PM.

Like to think an RV or a trailer repair would have some. I used Basher & Son in Avondale for repairs. Might be worth calling them, should be closer than W Chester. The Ace Hardware I mentioned might worth calling, their people are knowledgeable and nice to deal with.

If all else fails you don’t have to use the exact same thing. You can MacGyver, “re-purpose” something, nylon string that is larger in diameter because it can be squeezed in. Tubing, like auto vacuum line which comes in lots of different sizes. The Hardware store in Cochranville has lots of different size tubing that they sell by the foot. Take a piece of what you have and see if they can match the size. Good luck.

Try a window glass shop.

Well, for now I “MacGyvered” it like gumtree suggested with some sisal twine that I use to tie up flowers. Plus I can saturate it with raplast…
