1.25 cup scoop for supplement

I’m trying to find a scoop that measures exactly 1 and 1/4 cups for feeding Purina Outlast. Anyone stumbled across this? My internet search is turning up nothing.

Yes, I know how to buy a set of measuring cups and use two different sized cups, but I board and I’m trying to make it really simple for the feeding crew.

I used to use 4 oz paper cups for a supplement, could you use a 10 oz one? Plastic works better than paper, it won’t break down as fast. You could easily label it with a sharpie as well if that helps.

Thanks, @sing. Right after I posted, it occurred to me that searching by “cups” was probably too narrow. I typed in 10oz and found some disposable cups that I worry are too flimsy for daily use, but then also found some scoops.

So, if someone else finds this and is looking for the same thing, search for “10oz scoop” instead. Just bough a Winco 10oz scoop that looks hardy enough to do the job twice a day.

When I need to measure out something like that I just use a Tupperware container or potato salad container and draw a line where to measure

I bought this very nice $6 one on Amazon for the exact same use:

I find that it’s 50:50 as to whether other people pay attention to a line drawn on a container, hence why I was looking for one that’s an exact fit. Just because I’m a pedantic a**hole that will measure down to the decimal, does not mean others are so inclined.

I did consider cutting a container down to exactly 1.25 cups, but I worried about sharp edges and in the end, Google came through for me. (Good find @Libby2563 - My Amazon search only turned up some plastic resin mixing cups that were 1.25 cups, give or take, so you had a much better result than I did!)

Short term I’d take a plastic to go food tub or similar (Indian curries come in a lidded cup thats reusable here, for example) and get 1.25 cups of supp, place in container, mark line, then cut the container down with a knife so that completely full it is 1.25 cups.

Or fill 10oz (1.25 cups) containers in advance.

I board and I’m OCD about my horse getting his supplements in the exact right quantities, so I bought 1 cup containers on Amazon for $10 (12 came in a set) and I fill up my containers myself once per week. At each feeding, they dump. It makes them happy because they don’t mess with 4 supplements and it makes me happy because I know he’s getting the perfect servings.
