A Sallee van carrying ten racehorses from Florida to New York, crashed into the median on the NJ Turnpike last night and caught on fire. All ten horses on the van died (or were put down). Christophe Clement Stables has confirmed that some of the horses were theirs.

One of the drivers has been released from the hospital, the other is being treated for smoke inhalation.
Very sad.
What a tragedy. My heart breaks for all involved and impacted. Hoping for a speedy recovery for the people involved and glad they were not injured worse.

Clement did not announce the names of the horses involved. West Point Thoroughbreds later tweeted that two of its runners, Tampa Bay Downs debut-winning sophomore filly Hot Mist (Tonalist) and $375,000 yearling purchase Under the Oaks (American Pharoah), were among those on the trailer.
