12' stall fronts. Who do you like?

Country manufacturing?
Tractor supply?
Preifert manufacturing?

I want sliding doors, bars above, wood below. I prefer the ‘hatch’ type window openings, and access to drop feed.

Which ones have you personally used? I really am not interested in google results. I’m looking for real life experience from customers who can comment on durability, craftsmanship, and ease of ordering and delivery.

Although I love the look of the powder coated, I’m not sure I can justify the expense…
Anyone with first hand experience, I welcome your advice.

I have worked with Country Manufacturing and have nothing but good things to say. Good pricing, good quality, awesome service.

To be fair, I have a Country Manufacturing manure spreader that accounts for most of my experience with them. But I also have hinged steel-bar “top doors” that I use to shield glass windows in my stalls.

I trust the folks at Country Manufacturing and would count on whatever they recommended for my situation. I am in no way affiliated with the company. Just a happy customer (for about 20 years).

Good luck.

A friend has Ameristalls and he is very happy with them:

His look just like the picture in the left.
He ordered the stalls and then bought the lumber locally and put it in himself.
They may sell them with the lumber already in it also.
They look very nice in his barn.
Just more options, they are right East of Dallas.

A friend has Priefert. I like the door locks which work by pulling the first window bar down, it’s spring loaded and a pin latches in a hole above. They also have openings for either a feeder or a door on the opposite side from the slider. She’s had hers for 10 years now and other than replacing the door rollers up top I don’t think there have been any problems. The kit provided wood pieces do run vertically, which means if the lower part gets wet it’s going to ruin all the wood vs. just the bottom piece. I imagine you can buy the wood separately and run it horizontal if you want.

I am glad to hear the good review of Country manufacturing. I’m considering them for components to build out stalls here.

Priefert are always getting lots of good reviews, people seem to like them.
They also provide thousands of fair stalls to convention centers for their shows, but they don’t sell those models, with the cross hatch wire mesh fronts to the general public.
They are powder coated and the feed doors are high, harder to get hay in there without getting it all over you if you are short.
They have an option of wood inserts or puckboard.
Not sure the way they welded the frame for the wood you can change from vertical to horizontal, but they may make them any way you want.
They are by Dallas also.

Ameristall my friend has I like that they are galvanized, no paint to chip and the feed doors are shorter, so you don’t get hay all over you and a small person/kid can feed for you.

ARC Stall Systems. Rust-free, look very nice, Have had mine 5 years and look same as new. Great customer service. http://www.bendarc.com/arc-stall-reviews/
Lighter-weight aluminum = lower shipping costs, too.

I had Country Manufacturing 12x12 modular stalls (galvanized finish/add your own wood) in a previous new construction barn. Although they were attractive and easy to set up, they didn’t hold up well to horses that leaned/rubbed on the walls. The channels in particular were thin and made it easy to pop the boards through (which resulted in the channels being bent and then hard to re-shape). The sliding door hardware was also a little flimsy.

I now have Priefert 12x12 stalls (powder coat finish/add your own wood) and find them MUCH more durable. From channels to slider hardware to overall “look” they are a more solid product.
