137th Preakness Stakes

I am thrilled for Mario! Great ride! ( I was shouting too…)

awesome race!!!

Well, I’m sold. The horse can run, and Mario can ride. And I am very much rooting for a Triple Crown, we could all use one!

Oh, I don’t know… my kid was prone to bouts of hysterical spazz attacks when he was younger. Not that I think he’s normal, exactly. I mean, I raised him… :stuck_out_tongue:

What a great finish! I hadn’t been watching and lost track of the time until just a few minutes before post. Thank goodness I turned on the tv!

That is a fantastic horse. He wasn’t even sweating or breathing hard after that run!

WOW!! Great race!

Yes, it was a fabulous race. Why didn’t I bet?

I was shouting and clapping! Exciting race. I’m liking I’ll Have Another for the Belmont and the Triple Crown as long as he comes out of today well. Great race by horse and jockey!

Hopefully he’ll have one more in the Belmont ! This country needs a TC winner !

Strictly looking at the race itself ‘I’ll Have Another’ had the guts and determination to swallow quickly Bode in the stretch and prove he earned the win. It was a good race for him and we’ll see what happens three week from now.

I heard nothing but positives from all the competition [to the winners] including Bob Baffert - he genuinely tipped his cap to the winner.

Wow!

Great race!

Fingers crossed for TC winner this year, very quietly crossed!

Flower Alley. Who da thunk! Yah to I’ll Have Another! Great race!

Great race. Good horse and jockey. They are certainly a force to be reckoned with - not just “lucky they had a perfect trip”.

Is that some kind of a Breathe Right Strip on I’ll Have Another? Interesting.

Also, I didn’t notice Bode Baffert crying hysterically, but Doug O’Neill’s son was screaming with happiness.

Just finished watching the race(DVR’d it). WOW!!! Just WOW!! I was shaking at the end. Wasn’t sure if IHA was going to run out of track or not.
From the camera angle it was quite deceiving how fast Bodemeister was running as I’ll Have Another ran him down. In the replay they showed a wide angle view that showed the whole field & how quickly the two of them pulled away from the rest of the field.
Out of the past few years of possible Triple Crown horses, I think IHA has a very legit chance. His running style is a great fit for 1 1/2mile & he is one gutsy horse!!

I haven’t seen it… is there a link to watch it online yet?

I like IHA but Union Rags and Dullahan will return with rest… Should be interesting… I would love to see another triple crown… It has been to long…

Never heard of Mario before these races, but hats off to him as a skilled jock - lots of tactical talent and knows the horse’s ability. Nicely done!

Great race and looking forward to the Belmont. Been a long time since we had a TC winner. I can get behind IHA and Mario as deserving of such a title.

The all-time high was 121,263 for the 2007 running then the exceedingly foolish dramatic changes to the alcohol policy dropping it to a mere 77,850 in 2009. Last year with some tweaking the officials lured in 107,398.[/QUOTE]

And 2012 with Triple Crown hopes on the line mixed with great weather, solid bands, and improved policy with beverages yielded:121,309 for an all-time record of folks at old hill-top
