Does anyone know if a half pad big enough to fit an 18.5 Devoucoux Chiberta? I would like shimmable sheepskin, but am happy to try anything recommended.
Supracor makes a very nice half pad. Size large would fit an 18.5". Not shimmable but they offer a nice amount of padding, keep your horse’s back cooler and they last forever. Plus, you can just hose them off.
A Mattes XL should work as it is a tad big for my 18 inch saddle.
Engel L will work.
Thinline large
Yes, was gonna say Thinline large, too. Plenty big.
I have the Thinline large, Supracor large and Ogilvy half pad. Each works on different horses under different saddles for me. All my saddles are 18" and would work on bigger. The Supracor raises the saddle significantly and can cause the saddle to tip back if the horse has high withers. But I love it on a saddle that it works with. Can’t use it on my Tad Coffin without it throwing the balance out. It works on my Smith Worthingtons well. The thinline is much closer fit, you won’t notice it is there. I use it under the TC and the SW if the fit is perfect on that horse. If you are trying to fix something, it won’t. Maybe if you get the sheepskin one with shims, mine is the trifecta. The Ogilvy is in between. Memory foam, raises saddle a little, doesn’t change the balance though.
I actually recently ordered yet another, a Acavallo massage gel pad. Noticed a lot of World Cup riders using them, they are lightweight and I want something that will be thin but have sheepskin rolls/be softer than the thinline and Supracor at the back edge which being so long I think can make my smaller horses sore in the loins when I ride a lot because those pads are stiff back there. So I would look at that one too. I haven’t received mine yet so I can’t tell you whether it works or not. They also come in raised front, raised back and separated lifts for front and back.
Sorry for the lengthy diatribe on half pads, thought you might benefit from my many purchases! None of them are the shimmable sheepskin but I had one of those first many years ago and disliked it most of all (mine was a Mattes I think) nothing really therapeutic to it. Sold it on before I bought any of these. And I know it sounds like a lot of half pads but I have several horses and I collected these over 10 years at least!
Thank you all for the information - please keep it coming!
These guys had the biggest I could find.

No tax if shipped to USA.
It’s not sheepskin, but I am really happy with my ProLite pad - they have pressure map studies to show the pads effectiveness, and I have seen saddle fitters on here recommend their pads. Their regular size fits my 18.5 saddle well
I have an 18.5" Amerigo, and bought an Ecogold Triple Protection half pad in a large, and it’s very generous, it my saddle easily with plenty of extra, it looks like those Ogilvy pads with the fit if that makes sense.
What did you end up finding? i have an 18.5 chiberta too, and i’m having a tough time!
I have an 18.5 saddle and a Thinline works well with it.
LeMieux large is quite long. It should work.
Ovation Europa runs very large. I have a L for my 18" saddle and there’s still extra length
