Illinois and Wisconsin are home to a wide variety of large animals (horses, cattle, pigs, goats, llamas, alpacas, exotics, etc.). Large animal incidents can occur anywhere at any given moment, requiring the coordination and cooperation of multiple governmental agencies, non-governmental organizations and civilians to ensure a swift and safe resolution to the incident. Attendees will learn how to safely and effectively handle large animals in emergency situations.
Dr. Deke Carls brings the perspectives of both a firefighter and a large animal veterinarian to this lively and information-packed presentation. Class is free and open to all first responders (fire, police, animal control, conservation); equine veterinarians and vet techs; barn owners and managers; horse owners; and the public. Pre-registration is preferred at: http://svy.mk/1ImHuFm or call (815) 455-8565.
