I recieved a call today from someone who claims to have a friend in a very high ranking organization that I have contacted.
This person of which would not give me his full name, asked about the horses to which I responded by pouring my heart out. I finally got around to asking his name and was told the above - he has a friend…
this person told me he has had over 1000 horses and that no horse should ever need bute. If they need bute they should be put down. He also told me that horse owners cannot administer bute.
I just let him talk. His true side obviously apparent.
He further claimed that bute does have a withdrawal period for the E.U. of 180 days, which believe it or not, I believe is true for cattle but not true for horses as I myself followed the long trail in paperwork a few years back. He continued that bute has never been proven to be harmful and that I have been listening to the wrong people.
Both horses have had bute, one quite extensively due to injuries and the other very recently.
