So, where exactly were the horses picked up? Were they moved over state lines? Did they have Coggins and health certs? I realize they are not necessary for transport to slaughter, but they should be necessary in this case.

All the updates I have posted here are from different Facebook pages.
No involvement in this endeavor on my part, other than following this story out of curiosity when those horrifying pictures initially hit social media.
I’m wondering if there’s a least one scam in play here. Heard a report on NPR this morning about “trafficking” in dogs now that the northern shelters have almost none for adoption and poorer Southern states are loaded. Seems they’re shipping them FOR PAY now from the American south and even Mexico, central America, and the Far East to feed “adoption” rackets that sound suspiciously like “dealing” in dogs with adoption fees in the hundreds of dollars.
And of course, we’ve all seen plenty of same going on with horses. The truth is right now if the beast can walk on 4 legs it’s probably worth more than kill price to SOMEONE–especially if “the truck is coming” and the buyer doesn’t expect to ever RIDE. Hmmm . . .

This is starting to smell like a big old scam. Any questions on ARM’s facebook page are immediately deleted.
So according to what I have read, 65 horses were delivered to the farm.
It has been posted that horses and mules were identified to be from the initial Copiah County mess.
That “other” Facebook page is having a field day with their witch hunt.
No surprise there.
So, is there any proof that the rescue paid over 600.00 each for horses too thin to be accepted as 50-125.00 kill horses? I have a really hard time following anything on facebook.
From what I saw, there was a copy of the wire transfer for $ 42,000 (additional 2,000 was added for shipping) and, a copy of the contract with the Stanleys has been posted.
Cataloging of the horses has begun and here are some pics:

TY, no way could I find anything
Several look pregnant.
I wonder if anyone has checked for tattoos and called the breeders to see if they want them.
There is much doubt about the 65 horses being from the original Copiah herd. Pretty much looks like the fat healthy horses went some where else and the horses that were shipped back to MS were all thin and the rescues that removed horses from the property do not recognize and/or are questioning where some horses ended up.
I personally find the adoption process of the 65 to be very un-rescue like. There is no contract that I have seen to protect the horses from being sold or bred and I doubt anyone will be looking in on them. We a can only hope that the people that bought these horses have good intentions. Four rescues did get horses but they are not adopting them out until they are well.
MS has a pretty active slaughter pipeline and I would guess many of the horses came from other states. I hate it but we have no “rescue” from feed lot type rescues here; don’t really like the idea of putting money in KB pocket. The local rescues have their hands filled with neglect cases.
