2012 COTH Secret Santa -- Sleighs On The Way!

Just putting the finishing touches on barbecue babyback ribs, sauce and spices from Oklahoma, courtesy of MeghanDACVA. Great way to go out before the big New Years weight loss plan!

My horse is also enjoying his new personalized lead, and me, my lovely pair of gloves. Liken’ 2013 so far!!

OMG yes, blugal. We sent our package to Eleanor in Canada, and the meese took forever, something like 2 or 3 weeks, to let it go through customs.[/QUOTE]

I do not approve of the speed of the delivery meese. I’m starting to fret.

Apparently the messe are slower than warmbloods are.

We couldn’t use UPS or FedEx because the meese charge a fee to the recipient in Canada.

You just have to worry and worry until the meese let the package get delivered.

Oh and our post office would not let us track or insure to send something to Vancover Island. What a trial! We had to worry and worry.

But it got there after 2 or 3 weeks in meese customs. So hang in there.

It arrived!!

It’s like when you try to open a jar with a sticky lid. You work at it, and put it under hot water, and use a wet cloth… finally you give up and ask someone else - they do it right away!

Well, in my case, I started checking my mailbox sometime in November. I kept checking… and got messages from my Elf… so held off for a while… then I checked it every day until Christmas (ok, so I even checked it twice on Dec. 21st…). Then I was away for a few days and figured, “this must be it!”

But, no. Got back to work, checking the mail at lunch… and NOW I AM AWAY FOR 10 DAYS… guess what? It arrived today! My secretary was quite curious about my package from the USA  So SHE gets to stare at it until I get back!

Oh my goodness twinkle lol!! I’m sorry for the weight gain… but so glad you’re still loving your gifts!!

So did nobody get grinched this year? If so, that’s AWESOME!

It could be that when we warmbloods (we were eleanor’s elf this year, our first year) threatened to roll anyone’s house who grinched, that elves all decided to make sure they bought presents and mailed them this year.

We had stocked up on toilet paper, and were ready to roll to go get any grinches.

Well I finally opened my gift and it was well worth the wait! The first thing was a hand-knitted Santa hat for my horse. Unique idea and will be very cute for photos next year.

The absolute coolest item was a necklace with a hand-painted (?) scene on a glass pendant. Looks like “riding at dusk.” Gorgeous.

Another pretty necklace (these are for work) is just my style too. My gift was filled with “extras” like chocolates, tea, a cute keychain and lipsyl! (Can never go wrong with this stuff!)

My Secret Santa was amazing - s/he even tried to reveal themselves but I’ve managed to lose the little card to do the required sleuthing! So if you see this - reveal yourself please!
