2013 Foal Announcements! Let's see those babies!

Your mare is Gorgeous. I knew De Niro nicked well with Prince Thatch but wow!!! Major congrats on both

Stolen - is the 2yo the one who was born looking about 6 months old? Or am I thinking of someone else?

I’m so happy you got another Silvermoon foal, I know you were just dying for another!

Love this time of year and seeing all the new babies. It makes me grin seeing all the fuzziness:winkgrin:

Well, this morning marked the safe arrival of a filly by Cardento out of my 4yo mare Ellamieka (Corland x Darco x Indoctro). Definitely looks like she’ll be a grey!

I LOVE the coloring on your foal’s mare! Very pretty. Beautiful baby too!

All these babies are soooo cute and I love how different all their markings are. Congrats everyone on your new additions!

Just tickled, Pure Cleveland Bay colt arrived last weekend!

The long awaited (11 months waiting) pure Cleveland Bay foal arrived this past Sunday. The girls and I slept in the barn waiting and they were able to see the birth. As there are only about 8 tops pure Cleveland Bays due this year in the US. This little man is pretty special! Happy Birthday Malachi!

Just born:

Awwwww! Congratulations! I love your favorite one, too. “Love at first sight” (btw your daughter and your new filly). And love those fuzzy ears!

You must have had a lot of patience to wait that lo-o-ong!

Lovely looking boy!

Congrats!

P.

We need MORE Clevies in the US!!!

I just have half a one and he is 29!

Congrats! He is very cute.

Oh, congrats! Only 8 pure bred CBs born in the U.S. this year? Wow, he is special indeed!

I have a secret fond spot for CBs. The first real dressage horse I ever rode was a CB school horse - he taught many a newbie how to put a horse on the bit!

It is a wonderful breed that is becoming rare. Lovely to see a new one!

Adorable! I didn’t realize there were so few CBs in the US. A good friend of mine bred her Hanoverian mare to a CB and her foal, born about six weeks ago, is a doll. She imported a 1/2 CB years ago, and he became her favorite riding horse, ever.

Really! I didn’t know how rare CB is. Very interesting post.

I think goodhorse, a Coth member has at least a couple 1/2 CB’s but has had many as they drive them competitively.
I don’t think there is a more noble looking horse!

How exciting for you OP!

Cleveland Bays are very rare. They’re listed as critical, with less than 300 breeding mares. (Along with Eirskay ponies, Hackney horse and ponies, Suffolk Punches.) Clevelands are very dear to me, being my local breed.

I’m thrilled to see this lovely foal.

Thanks everyone! I am just tickled with him! We have a pure mare and stallion and the mare will be bred back again. I also have partbreds, but don’t breed as many as I used to with the soft market, but we have two partbreds coming in June. I have many of the crosses on the farm, some I use for lessons and showing. This little guy is just so perfect.

We had a pure foal in 2009 but he had an umbilical abscess that after surgery turned into a hernia. He was sold and the new owner had surgery to correct the hernia but while hand walking he got away and ripped the sutures and in the end had to be put down. It was sad for us as it was our first pure foal born on the farm.

I think he’s the 2nd or 3rd foal to be born this year, there are a few more due, but not many!

Here are some pics from this morning of our boy. Who now KNOWS he’s a boy. ALLLLL boy. :frowning: Poor fillies and mares in the field with him.

97 days old.

Thankyou stoic fish and leilatigress.
JB you’re right. This is the one who came out fully muscled up and looking as if he was several weeks old at birth. I wish I’d had the facilities to keep him a stallion but some things aren’t meant to be. He’s a lovely gelding. We loose schooled him a few days ago and, boy, does he move! He’s almost certainly going to be aimed at eventing when he’s old enough. We popped him down a jumping lane, just poles on the ground to start with and then a 1 foot cross pole. Not only can he jump but he loves it. He was whizzing round the school and taking himself down the jumps. We had a job stopping him. He is so much like his mum it’s untrue!

Slewdldo - I know what you mean about the boy foals! They can be pretty overbearing at times. That is a lovely grassy field with the mare and foal, such a pretty picture - where are you to have so much lushness?

I have had three foals this season, two from Hanoverian mares and one from a TB.

I am very happy with them all, especially the black filly from the TB mare, she is a delight.

So here goes:

Timbermill Fifth Avenue
Liver chestnut Hanoverian colt by Furst Nymphenberg

Timbermill Prequel
Bay Hanoverian colt by Prestige VDL
This colt is from my Dominant White Hanoverian mare - I’d love to start a thread on her but fear it maybe considered advertising.

Timbermill Zeta
Black filly by Donnerubin[/QUOTE]

Just stunning! Loving that donnerubin filly, I have one by him due next Jan out of an imported Australian riding pony. I’m liking the Prestige VDL colt too. I bet you’re thrilled, they’re a lovely bunch of babies
