2013 Foal Announcements! Let's see those babies!

Northhill, those photos of Rook actually brought tears to my eyes. He is so lovely & looks sweet. I have a Balta’Czar bun in the oven right now, so hoping the bloodlines work in our favor, too.

A little change of scenery from the warmbloods… We had a appaloosa cross foal by Waps Rolls Royce out of an app trakhener cross mare. We just love his white topped ears. We don’t have a name for him yet so if anyone has any ideas…
Hopefully this link works

Tips and Toes would be his name if I were choosing.

HotPink
He is adorable!! And Tips and Toes is a great name!

Hot Pink,

With those ears, the first thing that came to mind, for whatever reason-

Radar

Then-

Silver Tip

Early Warning (Two ways to live up to that, one… )

Fairy Dust (But more of a filly name)

Iced in Style

Very cute…as all the babies are.

This is our palomino filly by Mirabeau, out of my OTTB chestnut mare. One month old tomorrow… http://i289.photobucket.com/albums/ll219/mht17/DSC_1516-1.jpg http://i289.photobucket.com/albums/ll219/mht17/DSC_1502-1.jpg

Thanks everyone I’m hoping he doesn’t roan out too much… Only time will tell but his ears will always have the tips. We are calling him Tipton I think…

We had a lovely filly born here at the end of May!

Viva Edziza LN was born May 28 2013 @ 2:45am. Safe, easy foaling!
“Eddie” is a big chestnut filly with 2 hind socks and a huge star.
She is by Viva Voltaire out of Slim Sadie, and is a full sibling to Viva’s Veroveraar, who attended the 2011 Pan Am Games with Esther Mortimer.

We are so excited with her arrival! And once I figure out how to post photos on here I will do just that! LOL

I have photos of her on our Facebook page if anyone wants to see!

Tooo cute!

She is adorable and I loved the “I want to be scratched” video where she’s following you around

I finally get to share one after oohing and ahhhing over the beautiful 2013 coth foals! My retired TB event mare had a darling filly by Sir Gregory last night at 10:45 pm. Bay, 3 small socks, and a big blaze. This mare is my heart horse and I’m smitten with the filly!

Cute Nani! That blaze is wonderful

Casiro colt

This is Cato at one month old.

Casiro 1/Contender/Lagos

He is an embryo transfer foal.

This is my first attempt at using Photobucket, so if the link doesn’t work, I’ll try posting again.

Does anyone know of any other Casiro foals in North America?

Well, my princess mare (Brillante W by Budweiser) decided that far too much attention was being paid to the mare that foaled 6/6 so she foaled her Escudo II colt exactly 24 hours after my Sir Gregory filly was born. I am so sooooooo fortunate I have been checking pH and noticed her drop and was watching her like a hawk. Caught her as she started getting tacky/sweaty last night at 9:30 and was there for the foaling which is a good thing because it was a red bag delivery. I feel so grateful I saw the moment the bag presented and was able to get the foal out STAT. Long story short - he wouldn’t stand or nurse (from udder or bottle) and had to be tubed w/ the mares colostrum. I stood him up ever 45 mins and suggested he try to find and drink from the udder. At 4:00am he nursed on his own for the first time and by 6:00 he had mastered getting up and down! At 7:00 he was running circles around his mama, bucking, and frolicking. Today all appears well. He’s so laid back and friendly (so much like his dam). Will continue to monitor closely and check igG this evening.

Wow, you were definately in the right place at the right time. I’ve never had a red bag but I can only imagine it is terrifying. Well done on getting through it unscathed. I can’t see the pics though…

I certainly had zero question about what was going on and what I needed to do. Adrenaline is such a great thing! I’m just so happy that I have watched the videos read the articles, books, and was prepared. Made the album public (thought it was, oops). He’s such a ham! And great news is his igG was >800! As an added bonus he let me pull the blood while he was napping  sweet boy.

Nani Lio – Congrats on your back-to-back foalings! They are both gorgeous
