2013 Foal Announcements! Let's see those babies!
Casper is DW too? Man, I’m loving these DW ones. Wish my white mare had have obliged for me this season…
yep. As the mare comes from a family of sabinos (chromey chestnuts with the occasional belly spot) and dear old Dad is a max white I thought the odds were good he would be white…and there he is! The other week we were on vacation and she went to camp at the vets…so I warned the vet that the foal MIGHT come out all white so he would not be too startled if that popped up. But alas…she waited to come home and keep me up for another week + instead after our vacation.

Ah, I didn’t watch the video, I’ll go back and look at thiat

Also a horse can carry for the creme dilution gene and the dun gene.

Yes, I know  However, neither the buckskin nor the palomino parent look like either dunkskin or palomino, but as I said, the buckskin sire does’t have the best picture that I saw, so he may be the dunskin. The pali mare looked pretty clearly just palomino.

Yep, in the video the strong dorsal is clear. He’s just pretty dark for a red dun and so rich in color, relative to nearly every other red dun I’ve seen, that the pictures were not at all clear about his dun-ness.

I really, REALLY wish registries would get colors right :frowning:

Lovely! beautiful mare!

I have ask MCarverS, did the wee filly do an oopsy-daisy in that first pic of him on his back? It’s such a comical shot!

Great video and song choice. Lovely, lovely mare and foal. Please keep us updated, would like to see her develop. I see some nice things in her future.

Thank you Fred and UndertheBridge. To Kerole, baby filly was having a nice roll and I just snapped it at just the right time… luck of the click

Thanks Skydy! She’s pretty comical to watch, I have found myself spending the evenings pulling up a chair and watching to see what she’ll do next!

Please welcome CCS Rumel another Knabstrupper to the world!

Super dooper kids!!!

Monday morning the 25th at 12:45 am, my TB mare Painted Holly (Weshaam) foaled a beautiful bay filly by Rising Star Farm’s Cartier R. She is the very first foal for him to hit the ground and I am super pleased. Picture taken when she was 30-36 hours old.

Lovely foals, everyone! They are all adorable/sweet/cute/beautiful/handsome/etc. Keep the pictures coming!

Born Monday at 12:45 a bay filly by Cartier R out of Painted Holly xx. This is Cartier R’s first foal and Holly’s last foal and I could not be happier. Momma Holly gets to enjoy being a pasture ornament after weaning.

This is my full thoroughbred filly, born in November. Hope that counts, a little early for 2013, a little late for 2012. Still not sure what color she will be. She is shedding out dark. Her mane roots and legs look black. Mom is a chestnut, dad is a buckskin. I am going with liver for now.

Derby - she is most likely “just” chestnut. The first shed for chestnut foals is nearly always really dark. Liver is not very common, so that tells you something  Her foal pics don’t rule out palomino, but you’d probably have suspected that by now.

My little girl arrived this morning at 6:00 am! She is by Capone I out of an Idocus mare. This is a repeat cross for me, and just as lovely as my 5 year old. I am excited for a full nights sleep.

I took some updated pictures of the DW colt today, because who doesn’t love photographing an adorable foal on their birthday? =) I was so hoping the other mare would foal today… still crossing my fingers that she does and it’s a filly! Anyways, here’s the link, it’s public =)
