2016 Preakness & Black-Eyed Susan

Wasn’t it an absolute monsoon last year?[/QUOTE]

Yep!

-fingers crossed that everybody comes out of it OK-

I think the thing I like the least about Nyquist is his red shadow roll clashes with his purple and white silks, and red and purple are my two least favorite colors!!

WOOHOOO!

Gotta admit i was rooting for Exag.

Exaggerator. Isn’t this the only time he’s beaten Nyquist?

The new word is “toxic”. Toxic speed. Exaggerator looked GREAT!

Yes, first time. Love this horse!

I hate to say it but I’ve liked Exaggerator better for a while!

I was impressed with Stradivari.

Me, too.

YES Exaggerator!!! He looked fabulous from beginning to end. Nyquist looked good too but something about his pre race behavior made me wonder if he was entirely into it. Maybe just me anthropomorphising him. I am so happy, I really really love Exaggerator. He’s so handsome and talented. He was my pick today.

Cherry Wine ran well for second, and Lani actually moved decently at the end as well.

Nice run by Exaggerator, you can tell he LOVED the mud. Can’t stand his trainer or jockey, but that’s not the horses fault
Nyquist burned himself out with that blistering first 1/4. You could tell he was still trying at the end, but just didn’t have anything left to give.

Cherry Wine & Lani impressed with their runs as well.

It’d be nice to see them both back at Belmont for a rematch.
Hope they all cool out in good order.

Hooray, Exaggerator!

I kinda had a feeling that’s how it would go. He looked great in the Derby too. It was just a matter of time before he caught Nyquist.

What is with the Desormeaux brothers? Their interview was embarrassing. How hard would it be to play along for a couple of days in the spotlight?

Yes – this is the first time anyone’s ever beaten Nyquist.

Great race!

Red is my favorite color but I don’t get the red shadow roll with the purple and white silks either. Maybe it has some significance we don’t know about?

Well ridden race by Desormeaux. Nyquist I think got burned out by the early speed and Exaggerator was placed much closer to the front.

I was rooting for Exaggerator.

And to clarify…Homeboykris won the first race and collapsed walking back to the barn.

Pramedya broke her cannon bone in the 3rd race (on the Turf) and was euthanized on the track. Camera placement made it hard to see (which I think was a good thing, she looked like she couldn’t stay on her feet :frowning: ). Rough for the Jacksons.

I think maybe they are doing good just to be there and managing. Not making any excuses at all for them, because you are right, this is the time to put on your big-boy pants and act like a gentleman. Maybe they’re playing up their story for effect and haven’t let go of it yet. But I am sure glad they won!

I guess I missed it… What was the story?

I guess everyone has a different impression of owners and trainers. I thought they were a refreshing interview, or maybe I missed something?

Sad to see Nyquist not prevail, but Kent Desormeaux knew his stuff.
Love that sad eye look of Curlin’s also on Exaggerator. Did his daddy proud.
Happy all came home in good shape.
