2016 Preakness & Black-Eyed Susan

I love Ben’s Cat! It looked like there was no way he would get there but somehow he always does!!

Post time of 6:18 and 6:45 for the Preakness are shown on the world wide web. Why? Can we agree on a post time?[/QUOTE]

the little longines watch on the pimlico site seems to agree with the 6:18.

but yes, the DRF, whom you’d think would know about these things, says 6:45

http://www.drf.com/events/preakness-stakes

live human at pimlico says 6:45 for the 13th race.

I cannot find horse racing on any channels. I get TVG and HRTV —Oops. Just saw it is over. Dale Romans came in 1st and 2nd.

  1. Go Maggie Go
  2. ?

Ben’s Cat in the Jim McKay Turf Sprint… racing at 10 years old and 5 victories in this race. I wasn’t sure he was gonna get up but he did. Great win. Sounds like to be a HOF horse you have to be retired. I think JC should make an exception in Ben’s case

And Castellano, I think it was, in the race after that (Distaff??) ended up pulling up his horse but a great safe ride sans stirrups. Has anyone heard what happened?

Go Maggie Go… nice win. Land Over Sea just didn’t have the gas in the tank. Kinsley Kisses also ran a very nice race

Four Uncle Mo babies in the Preakness!

I’ll be at a wedding reception tonight, not sure whether there’s a TV available to watch – is this live streamed so I can watch it on my phone? If so, link? TIA!

Off subject, but this reminds me of something. A friend had her wedding on Belmont day (actually, it was Tabasco Cat’s Belmont) and since she and her husband to be were both veterinarians (University of Florida) a lot of equine vets were among the invited. At the reception, tucked into a corner, was a TV showing the Belmont with a crowd of people, myself included, avidly watching.

I can always remember when her anniversary is, LOL.

It’s livestreamed on the Pimlico website:

So are they putting water wings on the horses yet?

One horse broke down in the first race, then Homeboykris collapsed after winning his race and died.

Grim start to the day.

Thanks, suffolk - and ^^ that’s pretty awful, let’s hope the rest of the day is better and that everyone comes home safe.

Rough morning. :frowning: I really feel for the Jacksons - what a horrible case of deja vu they must be experiencing.

10 years ago. Can’t believe it’s been that long.

They also bred and owned Pramedya, the filly who broke down in the first race today.

:frowning: :frowning:

Do they ever postpone for rain? That track looks awful. Can’t watch.

Only for lightning. Race goes on.

We’ll see how well Nyquist can run in the mud.
Hope they all come through safe & sound!

Wasn’t it an absolute monsoon last year?
