There’s a lovely description in the newsletter I got after WEG, to wit: “The Festival of the Hunt, highlighting the history and tradition of fox hunting and working field hunters, will be welcomed back to the venue November 12-17, 2019. With opportunities to hunt with local hunt clubs, mock hunts, the TIEC Field Hunter Championships and Carolina Performance classes, the Festival of the Hunt is a beloved fall tradition at Tryon Resort.” But I can find no real information on the TIEC website or anywhere else. Facebook page hasn’t been updated in 2 years. Does anybody know how this works?

There’s a notice here, with a web address (not a link) to book lodging:

Thanks, I’ve seen those. I appreciate your efforts.
I’m interested in this as well and found the lack of information frustrating. I am a planner, so I like to have information often and early. With that said, I reached out to the email address (foxhunting@tryon.com) on this year’s flier and got a prompt and welcoming response from Carolyn Cadier who promises details are forthcoming.
You need to hunt a minimum of one day, but can hunt both days. This is to be scored/qualify for the performance classes. There will be separate judges for the Field hunters vs. Hilltoppers.
Everyone that has hunted and been scored proceeds to the mock hunt. Finalists are then chosen for individual rounds and then they will pin the class.
From what I can gather, you should plan to be down there for a minimum of 3-4 days in order to hunt then compete in the actual trial.
