I always find the very top and very bottom of the list interesting.
My sport horse TB stallion bred the same number of TB mares (2) as Ice Box, D’Wildcat, Kafwain, Lentenor, and North Light (IRE). Only 1 mare was bred by Albertus Maximus, Domestic Dispute, Indian Ocean, Uptowncharleybrown, and many others.
I find the whole list interesting. For some reasons, it always feels like it’s full of surprises to me.
It looks as if Golden Balls is not living up to his name.
Mendelssohn sure was popular, not that I expected otherwise. It’s always interesting to reflect on which sires exceeded initial expectations with their first few crops and are now in high demand. Conversely, I remember North Light’s Epsom Derby win as well as when he came to the US.
I was honestly surprised to see some of the names on there, as far down on the list as they were. As in, not getting very many breedings.
Thanks for sharing
Thanks LaurieB. Love seeing facts and crediting sources.
