More of a smaller local venue that closed earlier this year has decided to reopen and is doing a recognized for 2021. We need some good news!
Yeeaaa! :applause: Back to having 2 events in a 3 hour radius that I want to attend! How did you hear, the calendar? “Pending USEF approval.” It will have to get a lot closer before I get excited though, wondering if it will be cancelled again. Years ago, they said a committee would be formed to run the event. Don’t know if that didn’t work, but now something has come through? Did not understand the need for moving jumps in March = the incident which led to the cancellation.
I follow them on Facebook and they have a date. I am assuming it will be approved if it isn’t.
I think they spooked themselves while doing some moving of jumps with the tractor…maybe almost tipped or something.
Glad to hear they’re coming back. Didn’t they also have an earlier event in May? I’ve never gone, but would like to…although Iowa’s heat in August can be withering!
Susan was doing this in March IIRC. If they had a committee and the show was 2 months away…I don’t understand why…
They had 2 events in 2012 and were going to do 2 for 2020, earlier one in May for both years. I went quite a few times, it was in July for a while then August. I don’t remember absolutely melting at any of the events, but I may remember July being hotter.
I was set to give up on eventing. May have to find some mojo and start jumping again!
This is so exciting!!! It is a LOVELY event!
This is the first I have seen an event return after deciding not to run - So thrilled to see it return! it is a lovely venue, the McNutts have done so much to support the eventing community over the years - we have to be sure they know how much we appreciate them!
Oh my Lord yes, they are the nicest people!
