2022 Kentucky Three Day Event

Please tell me what media this was on. I just checked FB again and last update on Theo was he was sedated and taken to Hagyard. The updates on the other horse were clear and just wishing they would have

Chico’s Man VDF Z accepted!

Check out Fylicia’s helmet cam from the 5*! For those that may not know this pairs story, Fylicia was 13 years old when she found “Sunny” as a 2 year old on Craig’s List for $500. They have a remarkable partnership <3 https://youtu.be/Xl9bEdTNNo4

Thanks for sharing that @initiate1987. The statement, which was the second update posted last evening is about as clear and concise as the public needs. I would hope others would respect the rider and teams of these horses.

Very happy to see this is up. Thank you for sharing!

I saw multiple fb posts from the event that said the horse was stable and being cared for at hagyards. Same with Liz Halliday’s horse. They gave an an afternoon update and a late evening one at a minimum.

He looks huge next to that horse! (Or is it just the suit?)

There were multiple FB posts from the event and the rider posted 14 hours ago.

I don’t think the commentators are given any info and thus why they never said anything. Not sure what they can say either when no one knows what’s happening until after anyways.

Official update last night was the horse was sedated and taken to Hagyards. All I am saying is with social media being what it is and with animal rights groups being what they are, I think the media group at K3DE could have given a better update last night after the owner had already posted what had happened. That is all. They just needed to reach out to the owner and ask permission to post the more complete update. Not bashing the rider or her connections at all. That is all I am going to say here as obviously we have different opinions and I would rather go back to enjoying the competition at this point. Hopefully the rain is done now and we can all enjoy the show!

It would have been reasonable to just acknowledge that “AM and Emporium had an unfortunate incident at HOL. We look forward to sharing what we know when we can.”

Just acknowledge it, that would have been better than ignoring the elephant.

Ummm… the privacy of medical records. No - reporters can not call a hospital and get an assessment. Parents and family members don’t have access unless either given permission or the person is incapacitated in some way.

No, the general public should not have access to horse or human medical outcomes unless the person or owners report the outcome.

Wonderful team and helmet cam that shows just how challenging some of those angles are to jump. She made it look easy and what a nice mare!

I was right by jump 11 and I am not surprised something broke when Rory hit the B element. She hit it hard. I am extremely happy our vet medicine has progressed so a fracture can be stabilized and the horse has a good prognosis. I hope TS and her team will be able to bring her back to upper level competition.

It’s always interesting to look at past articles;

I missed that. What happened to LHS’s horse?

Here’s the video from when they pulled up. Idk it doesn’t look like too much contact on the front left? Maybe could’ve been something to do with the ground line. Super hard to tell. It honestly looks like the hind left stifle makes more contact with the fence. But the horse definitely is not wanting to put weight down on the front left when landing. Glad the horse is doing well now and what a horse for continuing to try and jump!

The name banner covers it somewhat, but I’ thinking the mare might have stepped on the base of the jump and hurt it before taking off over the B element. It doesnt look like she hit it going over from what I can see.

Light your tiki torches, I’m speculating based on a video.
