I think I can get behind this!
Vertical integration: vet practices, diagnostic labs, animal feeds and supplements, medicines and medical supplies. Until there is no one else …
Home 2 Suites in Georgetown was great. Big roomy room with a kitchen. I just booked it again for next year.
LMAO I always stay at Motel 6 or Red roof inn. Keeping it classy here ahha
I always book an airbnb. I just booked one in Georgetown for next year - looking forward to being there instead of Lexington for a change.
That’s alarming. Before this thread I didn’t know quite how far their reach went into medicine.

It’s terrifying.
I’m glad I’m not a recent graduate practicing small animal medicine.
I interviewed with a small competitor of theirs, Southern Veterinary Partners. Same idea.
Are there individual XC rides posted anywhere? I can only find a few.
BlockquoteI would also assume that it books very early for Kentucky as well - it’s a super easy drive to the HP without getting on the highway.
Well I tried booking online and the dates weren’t open yet, so I called them and they said yes, the dates won’t open for that specific week until ~November, like that is specifically for LRK3DE. Back to the drawing board for choosing a hotel, I don’t want to wait until November
Emporiums rider just confirmed his foot got stuck in his throat latch on her Instagram. Glad to see him home and sounds like he’s going to be fine
I’m in a Red Roof Inn right now in Georgetown, IN for the Derby and it’s perfectly nice. They even gifted us a big bag of snacks.
Lexington hotel for 2023. just read the recent reviews for the Clarion (which were really negative and which was nice when I stayed 4 years ago) and the Fairfield Inn (negative also). I am wondering if people are being mean in their reviews…or have they both gone really downhill.

It might also have to do with staffing shortages making things less than ideal when they are booked full for some huge event like this.
it was the dirty rooms comments that made me think…especially the bathrooms and clean sheets. I agree that the labor shortage makes staffing difficult.
I had a great time at the RRF! lol
Reviews are also tricky because no matter what, someone will find something to complain about, and people are way more likely to leave a bad review if they’re not happy than a good review if they were happy. Lex Hotel is a little out of my price range but looks very nice. I’m hoping to keep it to $120/night or less.

Book something right now you can ‘live with’ for next year’s event. When and if you can book in November the place you prefer, you will (hopefully) be able to cancel the first one without a problem.
Yeah that’s my plan, I need something tolerable so at least I’m not SOL, then I’ll switch in November if I can.
Sorry to ask an ignorant question that might not fit in this thread, but here goes: Can anyone explain the title “national champion” to me? Doug Payne is now the “national champion” based on being the top-placed American rider at Kentucky… But we also have the AECs and the Maryland five-star. Last year, Boyd Martin was the “five-star national champion” based on his finish at Kentucky with On Cue, but they also won the AEC Advanced “ championship” before going on to win at Maryland— another five-star. And then of course there’s a Horse of the Year and Rider of the Year, based on points.
In racing, the only formal “champions” are horses who have won Eclipse Awards, which are determined by balloting. Breeders’ Cup “championships” and Kentucky Derby “champion” are not official designations – they are just there to make things sound more important.
