What happened woth, I think ot was Connor Rollins? They said he had a fall but he was still on his horse when he retired.
The live scores have him listed as just being retired.
Okay so overall, they definitely listened to feedback from last year. There’s so many food options, and they have food trucks at the top of the course, at the middle, then of course at the bottom. Lots more vendors, TONS of portopotties, signage/roping is a lot easier to follow. They do have shuttles but I haven’t seen any out on course. I’m currently near the top by the crabs, two food trucks and picnic tables with a tent and a small bar truck.
They’re doing a WONDERFUL job, I’m very impressed.

Update: the shuttle is a school bus that has stops along the road next to the course. It doesn’t come into the course, but it has a few stops and goes from the entrance to the crabs at the top. I’m on it right now, so glad they have it this year!

I’m kind of annoyed over the bell and start issue. This is a world class 5*, they one; need to give horses time to enter this ring and look around and 2; it’s completely out of the ordinary. It’s not part of the event to be rushed to the dressage ring. From what I understand there was a long walk to the dressage ring? Was a steward or organizer being super hardcore? It upset so many riders and stressed horses unnecessarily and poor Harry almost was going to have to dismount to be able to leave the ring.
Do they forget horses first?

33 out of 54 who started finished well within the time.
Ya that really bugs me too. I can’t imaging flying my horse across the ocean to compete here and get screwed out of my dressage warmup because??? There should be some serious ass kissing going on. It’s really, really embarrassing and frankly a bit shocking. Especially because it seems like it was happening on a number of levels—bell ringing in the main ring and the warm-up ring—so it couldn’t have been just one clueless person.

Such a bummer for Liz. Sounds like we might have a lot of tired horses coming through the crab water.
