2022 USEF Talent Search Finals - East

I wondered about the swap. It looked like a choice. I’m on my phone so didn’t pull up the course map to see how the fences were set. As for the distances, it looked to me like she rode down to the bottom of the oxers and really protected the front end up.

Her style has really gotten very polished over the last year. She always looked to me like someone who had watched John French ride for years and figured out how he did it. Now she’s doing the same thing with a little extra finesse.

I’m with you. She decided to hold counter lead after cross cantering two strides after jump 2.

Thank you, fixed it!

Thanks for the perspective, should have added I was watching while trying to feed breakfast to two toddlers . She rides with a lot of purpose and intention, she has gotten so much more polished, and really turned her hunter style in to a lovely equitation ride.

What is happening now? I have not been able to watch at all today, but I have a few minutes to watch now.

Starts again at 1.

Anyone know who’s judging?

Michael Morrissey and Alex Jayne.

Luke Jensen’s horse has an interesting tail carriage.

Augusta looks very comfortable on any horse and they go so well for her. She’s been a catch rider for many years hasn’t she?

Taylors round on Alex’s horse was lovely!!

Luke is such a soft rider. I enjoy watching him.

Alex’s round on Freedom is looking very disjointed to me.

Freedom looks like a tough ride to be soft on, and alex was trying, but the pace was all over the place. I thought he stayed with the round jump really well all things considered.

Agreed, seemed like he couldn’t quite figure out the pace - he pulled to nothing at a couple of those.

I’m not used to seeing Augusta wear gloves lol

They’re all so good! Taylor stays so composed on anything she rides. Augusta too. She ran a little to that last jump imo. But the judges have their work cut out for them. Alex’s horse looks like the one I’d choose!

I prefer the softer styles like Augusta and Luke, personally. Taylor always looks fairly stiff to me. She rides great, but it never looks as soft and flowing to me as the others I mentioned.

Have they carried their points over to this round?
