It pinned the way it did specifically because I missed >half the class, let’s be real.
Congrats Augusta!! Well deserved!
See you all at medal finals… you’re still all invited over for pancakes and armchair quarterbacking.
Final standings. I wish they would show the scores for the individual final 4 rounds.
Video of the winner. She has been practicing for the switching horses test her whole life. Lol.
Congrats to her!

I watched the finals today. I am still stunned that Luke could have a rail down and end up second. Taylor was robbed, IMO. Both the boys did not do as well as the girls. again IMO
I have not had a chance to go back and watch the whole thing yet. When did Luke have a rail down?
Chronicle write up, with videos of the different phases.
He had a rail with Freedom (Augusta’s horse) and another with Ferry (Alex’s horse).
It’s hard not seeing the judges scores for that final round, but they only deduct four points from his score for the rail. So, if he had an 88 and Taylor had an 83, with the rail, he still would be ahead of her. This is where seeing those final round scores would be SO interesting, since they have a clean slate!
Interesting, thanks. Was he the only one who had rails in the final four phase?
I think so.
Absolutely agree!
I watched her at the southern California shows in her younger years. She rode in lots of classes and rode nearly anything. However, she’d cowboy the horses around the course, as if there was no other way to get the job done. Each horse got the same treatment, and it was never a pretty round, just one that had to get done. That was her style back then. It’s wonderful to see that she’s progressed in her riding education, can ride quietly, and look so polished. Well done !
Who was best horse?
Mac One III . He was best horse last year, too!
Watching again to compare rides and try to see why the judges placed Luke 2nd.
IMHO Luke had a better round than Taylor on Augusta’s horse Freedom (who seemed to be the trickiest to ride) even with the rail. He was almost 24 pts ahead of Taylor going into the final 4. I know that the points weren’t carried forward but the judges liked him better for some reason.
I think perhaps the judges may have preferred his position to Taylor’s. Just a guess.
The final scores;
Augusta 377
Luke 364
Taylor 358
Alex 337
