2024 Maclay Final Thread

5th: Kate Haggerty

What a weekend for their family!

I appreciate the fact that the Hagerty girls have their chin straps on their helmets properly adjusted. Good for them again!

Love Kate Hagerty’s horse, too. But I have a thing for unique coloring

@MHM right again!

Never realized that Maddie and Luke Jensen are related, but that’s kind of a cool fun fact…?

As expected, Maddie in 4th.

Same

I would like it on record that I have not said “the heck” or “that’s a choice” about the results one time this year. I might be learning something.

Adriana in 3rd. Her horse looks like he would like some scritches instead of that ribbon please and thank you.

And Maddie also won the Wilson Dennehy trophy for winning the most points between the Medal and the Maclay in the same year. Third at Harrisburg and fourth today.

Taylor and Stacia holding hands while they announced results was incredibly sweet.

That was what my “well done” was for.

Taylor sure deserves the win. She’s a beautiful rider and her test was lovely.

That was an awfully good class. An excellent top 10 separated by details, some bloopers but no carnage, consistently good riding, inviting and beautiful course design that did enough to split them without being a horse or a scope test. Pats to all the horses, high fives to all the riders, and everybody GO TO BED.

Yes. Congrats to her and the whole family!

The announcer sounds as if he’s getting verklempt.

I remember Stacia and Molly as just-graduated juniors riding whatever was underneath them (remember, this was when Bill Cooney was deconstructing and the George Lindemann/Charisma thing was about to happen) and they were inseparable. Good to see them come through a LOT together and have this moment.

Some tears from Taylor… what a year she’s had. Well deserved.

It’s not Brian talking. It’s the horse show announcer, Kenn Marash. He always does a fantastic job every year.

OK, now it’s Brian. Maybe my live stream is behind yours.
