Schyler was great. Now there have been a few really nice rounds
Luke Jensen, last yearās winner. I wish his mic were louder.
Thanks. Iām jumping back and forth between different live feeds this morning. Lol.
The League of Nations in Barcelona is also on Clip My Horse, and the second round starts soon.
Standings after the first round:
I believe the skinny wall with the cut outs was in the warm up round when I was there on Friday, and multiple horses were giving it the hairy eyeball that day.
In that course it was by the outside of the ring near the camera, not standing by itself away from the rail.
The horse that Hugh is riding, Kolora Stud Kendrick, was ridden by Lilly Herzog last week and is the horse that is being discussed in this thread:
Regarding his coat color.
Amiraās round was lovely. She really showed off the combo of jumper efficiency and Eq polish.
Top 6 moving on to the vet check:
- JJ Torano
- Taylor Cawley
- Amirah Kettenah
- Olivia Sweetnam
- Christian Dominguez
- Ella Witt
Excellent! Thats how I had them
He is absolutely stunning to see in person. Really fascinating.
I just saw him when I walked by as he was on his way to the ring on Friday morning. He will definitely stand out in a crowd, thatās for sure!
Coincidentally, or maybe not, who knows, there was a similar but much bigger version of a cutout wall at the League of Nations class today in Barcelona.
So the inclusion of that spooky wall at the USET final today is giving these kids good preparation for future international appearances, which is the whole point of this particular equitation class in the first place.
As Iām watching these horses go round and round with different riders, Iām reminded of the old joke that the best ribbon to get at USET finals is fifth, because that way your horse doesnāt have to jump around four more courses with other people. Lol.
Did my eyes deceive me or did Class Act just request that Stacia pay the treat toll on the way out of the warmup?
Call me old fashioned, but Iām really not a fan of the whole treats under tack trend.
It might make sense if you have a specific issue that needs positive reinforcement temporarily to get over a hump.
But I see way too many horses pretty much try to maul anyone in their path at a show just in case they might have treats on them.
I personally think itās a very, very small price to pay for all that they do for us.
Iām pretty sure she did give him something so maybe itās part of their routine. Iām not usually a fan of treats under tack either.
In this situation, though, Iād be hard pressed not to want to give a treat. These horses have given so much this week. For the final four especiallyā¦ to jump 5 rounds today back to back to back like this is a tall order. Sure, I donāt doubt that theyāre fit enough for the task. Weāve heard the commentators remark on how mentally taxing this is for the ridersā¦ itās equally so for the horses.
Oh, donāt get me wrong. I absolutely give treats.
But I do it at the end of the day when the horse goes in the stall, so they donāt think they should spend all their time looking for the next treat when theyāre supposed to be doing their jobs.
Maybe Iām biased because I really like Amiraās riding, but Iām really rooting for her today. Other than the swap at the oxer in that last rotation, sheās seemed to ride all four trips well.
I think she and Taylor have both been very strong and consistent on all the horses.
Also, I have to give props to Ava for spitting out the full title of the event just now in such a smooth and organized fashion. That included a lot of words in a row!
She was in the horse swap last year and rode really well. Sheās definitely the oldest/most experience of this group and I think itās showing here.
