2024 USEF Medal Finals Watch Thread

My barn often goes up, but I tend to think that the bright-eyed short stirrup and low children’s kids do not need to be around my particular level of finals energy. They’ve never done anything to deserve it.

You people, on the other hand. :woman_shrugging:t2:

It’s different to be there in person. Back in the 1960s/70s I used to spend the entire weekend at the National Horse Show at MSG watching the Medal, Maclay and Good Hands finals, all of which took place in two days but I can’t do it on a computer.

Does anyone else have anything actually happening on the live stream yet? I just have a still picture so far.

P. S. Good morning, everybody!!

Good morning! First round course map courtesy of Beacon Hill’s Instagram:

Now it’s getting fired up. Here we go!

It’s starting now, first rider in

I am starting out this lovely morning with CMH having lost its linkage to my USEF account and sending me through an authentication loop while I try to fix this problem, so if someone could please do me a favor and report on the first three?

How was the first one? Clip My Horse dogged me.

Edited to add: And the second one. Thanks, Clip My Horse.

Is the stream terrible for anyone else?

So far I haven’t seen more than three strides in a row without the picture freezing up.

First three got around nicely. First line is riding long - will really reward the ones who can get right up to pace away from the gate and then settle and balance for the bending line 3-4AB.

I’ve got the stream up now and it’s performing well.

Kate Hagerty just laid down a lovely early trip. Also, McKayla Brombach’s horse was freaking adorable.

It’s been a little glitchy for me, freezing and looping for a Bir. I’ve reloaded the page twice.

Also, I set my alarm for 6:30. Hit snooze and somehow woke up at 7:01a. facepalm

Really love the in-gate views, though.

Did Kate’s lovely horse swap before the Swedish oxen?

I was about to say I wasn’t sure the course was doing enough to separate these riders and thereby cursed the rider entering the ring.

Kate Hagerty was very nice, but got a little underneath some of the verticals.

Adriana Forte rides with her iron up on the tips of her toes as a matter of style but it made it look like she lost her iron across the bending diagonal.

What I was able to catch of Adriana Forte’s round (damn you CMH) looked nice and smooth.

I changed devices, thinking maybe that was the problem. And it’s still freezing for me so that I’ll only see one or two jumps before it stops again.

Plus when I try to reload the page, I have to watch yet another ad again. It’s already getting very tiresome, and the class just started.

Does anyone else miss the days when the live streams for the USEF Network actually worked?

Every day this time of year.

Now, who wants to come fix my Chromecast?
